1. Hotel or vacation rental
Ripken says families can choose where they are most comfortable staying, so there is not one mandatory hotel price that applies to every family. Ripken also offers preferred-hotel incentives to teams; for Week-Long Experiences, its lodging page currently advertises a $500 registration discount when a team books 50 or more qualifying room nights through a Preferred Hotel Partner.
2. Getting to Myrtle Beach
Driving costs can include fuel, tolls and possibly an overnight stop. Flying can add airfare, checked bags, airport transportation and a rental car. Compare the complete family cost rather than airfare versus gasoline alone.
3. Food for the week
A week-long event means meals can become a major category. Estimate travelers × trip days × expected food spending per person per day, then adjust for breakfasts included by your hotel or meals you plan to prepare yourself.
4. Beach and vacation spending
Ripken markets Myrtle Beach as a baseball-and-vacation experience. Budget separately for attractions, beach activities, mini golf, shopping or extra vacation days so those costs do not get hidden inside the baseball budget.
5. Team and player extras

A better way to estimate your family total
Start with the amount your team actually asks your family to pay. Then add lodging, transportation, food and vacation spending. If your team has not given you a final charge yet, use Ripken’s current published participant rate as the event-cost baseline and keep the rest editable.
That approach is more useful than quoting one “average Ripken trip cost,” because a family driving from a nearby state and sharing a condo can have a very different total from a family flying cross-country and extending the trip.
